These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Woven, a connected workspace for developing ideas, research, and creative projects. By creating an account or using Woven, you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. The Woven Beta
Woven is currently provided as a private beta. The service, features, functionality, and availability may change as we develop and improve Woven. Features may be added, modified, suspended, or discontinued, and the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or other reasons.
The beta is provided so that users can explore Woven and provide feedback about their experience. We may invite beta users to participate in voluntary research, interviews, surveys, or other feedback activities.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for providing accurate information when creating your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account and should notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
3. Your Content
You retain ownership of the writing, ideas, research, notes, files, and other content you create or store in Woven.
You grant Woven the limited rights necessary to host, store, process, reproduce, display, transmit, and back up your content solely to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Woven service.
This licence ends when your content is deleted from Woven, except to the extent that copies remain in backups or are required to be retained for legal, security, or other legitimate purposes.
We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use your content to train artificial intelligence models.
4. Your Responsibilities
You agree not to use Woven to:
- Violate applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe another person's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
- Upload malicious code, malware, or other harmful material
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Woven or another user's account or information
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation or security of Woven
- Use Woven in a way that could reasonably harm the service or other users
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights necessary to upload and use content in Woven.
5. Feedback
If you voluntarily provide feedback, suggestions, ideas, or other input about Woven, you agree that we may use that feedback to develop, improve, and operate Woven without owing you compensation. This does not give Woven ownership of your underlying creative work or other content.
6. Woven's Intellectual Property
Woven and its software, design, branding, interfaces, features, and other materials provided by Woven are owned by Woven or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from Woven or its underlying software.
7. Availability and Data
We work to keep Woven available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
You are responsible for maintaining copies of important content that you store in Woven. Although Woven may provide autosave, version history, backups, or export functionality, these features should not be treated as a guarantee against data loss.
8. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in the Woven Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms by reference.
9. Termination
You may stop using Woven and request deletion of your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate an account if we reasonably believe that the account is being used in violation of these Terms, presents a security risk, creates legal risk, or threatens the operation of Woven or the rights of others.
Where appropriate, we will provide reasonable notice before terminating an account. These Terms do not limit any rights or obligations that must continue by law.
10. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Woven is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis during the beta. We do not guarantee that Woven will meet every user's requirements, operate without interruption, or remain unchanged.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Woven and its operators, service providers, and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of Woven.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Woven develops or as legal or operational requirements change. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. The "Last updated" date at the top of these Terms indicates when they were most recently revised.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
